THANK YOU for your interest in being part of Eleventh Hour Haunted House this year!
We will begin setup on Thursday, August 19th, at noon, and be there most days from 10am until late. We'll have auditions and actor training for paid spots and key roles on: August 28th, at 4 pm The Eleventh Hour Haunted House was voted #1 Haunted House and #1 Halloween Event in IL by the visitors of HauntedIllinois.com this past year. 11th Hour is one of the Chicago Area's longest-standing haunted houses, in its' 13th year of fear. We're excited to have you join us for our biggest year yet, and a new season of October chills!
All those auditioning should be prepared to monologue and interact for 3-5 minutes. We encourage all actors to develop a character of their own that fits within the storyline of the haunt. For those who have not performed in a haunted house, this is the Olympics of acting, as you are on stage every 90 seconds for 3-4 hrs a night. At least one actor training session is required for paid positions.
This years' location will again be the Berthhold's Garden Center in Elk Grove, and as always we will have both paid and volunteer actors and staff. All volunteers must be 18, OR if under 18, be 16 or older and have a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian.
Paid performers will receive a stipend of $20-$50 a night.
In order to be considered for a paid acting position you must be 18 and available most every night we're open. You must work Halloween and Friday and Saturday nights.
In order to be considered for the Volunteer of the year award you must complete at least 11 nights of the show as well as assist with set up and tear down.
All other volunteer prizes are available to those who complete at least 11 show nights.
Everyone is welcome to participate in setup, and keep in mind setup gives you an opportunity to learn more acting tricks, and get to know your fellow haunters, as well as a little about all aspects of the haunt. Besides we have fun doing it.
We look forward to another year of entertaining and scaring people silly, and hope you can join us! This year a portion of the proceeds will continue to benefit Shady Oaks Cerebral Palsy Camp, Unicef, Lions Club, and other charities.
Be sure to download, fill out, and bring the above actor paperwork. See you there!
